Support for Parents/Carers
DESC Counselling for Parents/Carers
Counselling is available to parents and carers whose child or young person is attending DESC or receiving support through the DESC Outreach service.
This is a free service.
Sessions are delivered weekly at DESC’s Barncroft Campus in Hemel Hempstead, by a BACP registered counsellor.
Sessions are needs led and open ended.
To access this service, please speak to your child’s link tutor if they attend DESC or your child’s outreach caseworker if they attend a Dacorum school.
Therapeutic Services Co-ordinator
DESC have an on-site Therapeutic Services Co-ordinator who offers a confidential, non-judgemental opportunity for parent and carers to receive the support they need to enable the best outcomes for their child.
This service is available to the parents and carers of children attending The Haven, and encourages a solution-focused approach to parenting and supports parents to engage in their child’s learning.
Sessions are delivered in groups or one to one.
